Ingrid Solberg has spent a decade returning to the light that arrives before a room feels fully awake. These paintings were developed through two winters in a waterside studio outside Gothenburg, where each morning offered only a narrow window in which to work from observation.

Every canvas starts with a single field of cadmium orange. Graphite lines then establish fragments of architecture, horizon and memory before thin passages of oil cover, soften and reveal them again. The finished surfaces hold those revisions rather than disguising them.

The presentation extends through both levels of the Stockholm gallery. A new 96-page publication brings together Marta Lind’s essay, details of the works and photographs documenting the winter sessions.
